Gershwin and Gwendolyne are a pair of Timneh African Greys brought here in 2012 from Daytona. The smaller one is Gershwin and the slightly larger one is Gwendolyne. Their owner went into a Hospice facility and they would not allow her birds to join her as the birds were older and Hospice did not want to be responsible for them
Prince is a sweet Umbrella Cockatoo who is a little shy but loves attention and cuddling! Prince came from a woman who traveled all the time and just could not give the attention and time a cockatoo needs. As Prince has matured he has also become hormonal. Male cockatoos can become quite aggressive and have been known to attack whenever they are in these hormonal periods. Even with the mood swings and volatile temper, we still love him at Wings.
Angel is one lucky bird. This female medium Sulphur Crested Cockatoo was found under a bush by a dog with no feathers and her crop torn open. The vet did not expect her to survive. However, with Wings TLC and a very special diet, Hagen, Angel made a full recovery. Angel has a malformed beak where the lower beak keeps growing. Angel hates the dremel grinder but with time, patience, trust and love, we can trim her beak, kiss the top of her head and return her to her cage.
