Bobo is an Umbrella Cockatoo who came here because the owner got remarried and the spouse thought Bobo did not like women. In reality, Bobo, a female, most likely was bonded to the owner and became jealous over the new wife, who she wanted gone. Unfortunately for Bobo, it was not the wife who was made to leave.
Wings made a permanent home for Barry, a male Bare-eyed Cockatoo, who is blind in one eye. Due to several strokes Barry requires constant attention and care. Barry’s exact age is unknown but he is an elderly shy bird. As his breed can live up to 50+ years, he will live at Wings until he passes away
Ronnie, a Moluccan Cockatoo, was mistreated by his previous owner before he came to Wings. A portion of his life was spent in a cage far too small for him. His prior diet was a cheap wild bird seed, which was nutrient deficient. This seed made his chest irritated and he plucked out all of his chest feathers, destroying all of the follicles. At Wings, Ronnie ate high end brand pellets shipped in from Canada, Hagen, the best feed available, and his healthy greatly improved.

Angel had epileptic seizure. There was massive blood in her cage and she was on the bottom of cage. She required shots twice a day, we didn't believe she was eating. Once we baby fed her peanut butter off of plastic ware she started making efforts to feel a little better. She had no strength, the seizures had her confined to the floor of the cage where we were forced to put her foo and water so she could reach it, along with a birdie bed. Angel barely made it through the weekend, but, when she recovered she pulled herself back upon her perch and was observed cleaning herself and eating and drinking. Had she not received the care she did, she most definitely would have died.
